Modern man typically spends a lot of time sitting at computer and/or doing a lot of repetitive actions necessary for a specialist occupation, e.g. electricians. This may often mean that some muscles are overused while others remain completely inactive.
Imbalances or weakness in trunk muscles may later in life manifest as lower back pain as the deeper 'core' muscles are not used and the back muscles become overworked.
Muscular imbalances may be missed while training at the gym, or perhaps even worse exacerbated by training at the gym poorly. Our sports osteopaths attempt to identify these muscle imbalances and prescribe carefully targeted exercises with the objective of preventing serious pain in the future.
